Our Approach

 

We’ve honed our unique documentary style over a decade in the industry. We work with you to get to know your story ahead of time and plan ways for that story to unfold naturally on camera. Our fly-on-the-wall approach means that we keep our footprint small and we focus on capturing moments as they happen - we’re not going to yell “action” or “cut”, but instead will work with you to ensure you feel comfortable on and off camera. Most of all, we want to deliver films that make you feel all the feels.

  • Everyone should feel comfortable, safe, heard, and valued when working with Paper Heart Films, and we want those feelings to emanate from all our films. Our films are an opportunity to show the world we want to live in and to take a step toward it at the same time.

  • We rely on our local community of vendors and clients to keep us in business, and we want to repay that favour. Plus, supporting our local small businesses and vendors helps keep our footprint small and our friends in business.

About Us

We’re Chelsea and Bryan at Paper Heart Films. We aren’t a big production company; we’re a wife-and-husband team who draw from our experience as documentary filmmakers - but also our experience in nonprofit and small-business management, the cultural sector, higher education, and a couple hundred weddings - to make great films. We love what we do, from the planning stages to the final tweaks in editing, and we get charged up by those unrepeatable candid moments.
